Alice - The Sussex Spaniel whose owners were new to dogs

Friends invited me to join them on one of Phillip’s field training sessions, with my stubborn 3yr old Sussex Spaniel, Alice.  I thought ’you must be joking, us running around like loonies’’ … She’ll hate it, I’ll hate it.  We tried it and I was wrong, Alice’s tail did not stop wagging.

Before we started Phillip explained what we were to do and how we were to achieve it. I had never had a dog before and we had not done any formal training. We brushed up on a few commands and by the end we were having a go at agility. Alice took straight to Phillip and learnt quickly, in fact I was surprised how clever she was.

Phillip gives us good sound advice and tuition, even a bit of bad weather and home work does not stop it being fun.

If I have any questions on behavioural issues, or canine care, Phillip is there to help us. There is now more to Alice’s life than a trot around the park and my relationship with her has strengthened.

10 sessions later and her tail is still wagging!
